You’ve heard the commercials… Feed a child for less than a cup of coffee a day…. Well, it’s true….. but there’s more to the story.

This project started because we had $50 left over after paying for a construction project.

After rolling around ideas of what to do with the money, we learned that $50 could feed a classroom of 20 kids for a whole month.

A month!

Great. Let’s do it now, and on a continual basis.

So here’s where it gets interesting. As we were sharing this awesome news with family and friends, we started getting donations. We ended up getting $250 in monthly pledges!

At the same time, I get mildly panicked call from Mozambique, telling me that more kids were coming to school since there was food there.

They needed more food and more teachers! Fast.

I calmed him down pretty quickly letting him know that it is already done. We had enough money.

We currently feed 83 children and pay 4 teachers!

So the ripple effect of a mere 10¢ a day, is having a huge impact on their village and their people.

You can’t help but smile when these happy kids are smiling at you!

We were looking for anything and everything to take to these adorable kiddos on our November 2018 trip to Mozambique.

Patty Flora with Williston General Dentistry graciously donated wonderful little care packages! We were able to give out 100 toothbrush / toothpaste / floss packages.

They are learning about their teeth and how to care for them!

And they are so excited!

Michael and I would love to share every second of our trip to Mozambique in October 2018!

Although there are no words that can fully describe the spiritual awakening that happens on mission trip, we can show you some images that will make you smile!

A capulana is a type of a sarong worn primarily in Mozambique but also in other areas of south-eastern Africa. It is a length of material about 2 metres by 1 metre.

I have quite a few very memorable experiences where I undoubtedly know it was an act of God.

This is one of them.

In 2016, Pastor Alex Abiola from Nigeria and I became friends, and soon after I started to support him on a few endeavors.

One day, he called me and said, “Brother Guil! God told me to ask you for an ambulance!” I reminded him that I was a builder, and that he could ask me for a 2×4 or a window, but an ambulance? No way.

And he reminded me that God instructed him to ask me. So, very skeptically, I said okay, and went on with my day.

Within the hour, I unexpectedly ran into a buddy, Clayton, wearing a paramedic t-shirt. I asked him if he was the type of paramedic that rides in ambulances, and he told me he was.

I smiled, and went out on a limb, and explained the need for an ambulance in Nigeria, and laughed and said, “you don’t happen to know of one that nobody wants around, do you?”

He said, “as a matter of fact, Levy County just decommissioned the old one! It’s a long shot, but I’ll ask for you.”

I got in my truck, and was overtaken with the realization that God weaved together this opportunity so perfectly. Tears filled my eyes, so much that I couldn’t even drive.

Two short days later, I received a call from Clayton, and knowing me, he asked if I was driving. So I quickly pulled over! He waited until I was safely off the road, to tell me that we could have the ambulance.

Thank you God!

Four months later, Pastor Alex and Nigeria had their ambulance.

It is a huge blessing to their community and is very well used!

I’d love to show you what my mission trip to Mozambique looked like!

When it happened, it reminded me of Matthew 14:13, where Jesus feeds 5,000 people with just five loaves of bread and two fish!

In early 2018, I decided to it was time to go to Mozambique to check on the construction jobs.

I also had a new goal to buy bibles for 1,000 church-goers.

The initial quote from the United Bible Society showed that the each bible would cost $11, and by the time I left for Mozambique, GBM had received enough money to purchase 200 bibles!

When I arrived at the store, I learned of a few discounts, and with some math magic, we were able to purchase 401 bibles in 4 languages!

We doubled the delivery!
